Join us on Saturday, September 14th for an introduction to the mushroom world. Bob Bowles, award winning writer, artist and naturalist will lead this 3 hour introductory workshop. Bob will teach us the functions mushrooms perform underground, their value to the ecosystem and the benefits to the entire forest. We’ll learn about life cycles, the features of mushrooms, spore deposits and much, much more. Bob will also talk about what’s poisonous and what’s edible in the mushroom world.
There are several thousand species of fungi but we will be foraging for just a few species. This workshop is great for beginners and for those experienced who want to hone their foraging skills.
Rain or Shine. And remember to bring water and a snack.
