Let the kids lead the way!  From on-farm fun with pumpkin picking to trick-or-treating around town, these day-time activities are perfect for the young ones and young at heart.

Chappell Farms’ Fall Festival

Seven days a week from 10am – 6pm until October 31st

Explore the Chappell Farm’s playground, meet some adorable barn animals, pick your own pumpkin, get lost in a corn maze, and be amazed by the festival’s magic show!
Weekdays: $13.50 per person | Weekends: $15.00 per person | 23 months and under are free.

Hewitt’s Fun Farm Pumpkinfest

Friday to Sunday, 10am – 5pm until October 27

4th Annual Halloween Themed Paddle

Celebrate Halloween spirit and view there spectacular fall colours with a guided paddle board (or canoe/kayak) excursion along the scenic shores of Lake Couchiching. Dress in your best witchy wear or Halloween costume, although costumes are optional.

Leacock Museum Halloween crafts

Halloween Crafts for Kids

October 20, 10am – 4pm | Leacock Museum & Historic Site

Drop in for a day of Halloween activities for kids! Activities will include pumpkin carving, making monster bookmarks, and our special guest author, Jeremy John (author of “The Strange Grave of Mikey Dunbar, and other stories to make you poop your pants”) who will tell his spooky camping stories and create balloon creatures!

Children 3+ welcome.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Monster March

October 26, 11am – 1pm | Downtown Orillia

Dress up in your spookiest costumes and come march with us down Mississaga Street! Meeting will take place by Municipal Lot 5 (beside Plum Loco), and will depart at 11am sharp!

Stick around after the march for local Trick or Treating! With a current total of 42 participating businesses, children are able to Trick or Treat down the main street!

A list of all participating business will be provided during the march!

It’s back! Welcome to the 5th Annual Trunk Or Treat proudly brought to you by the TheBigEvent.ca and the Orillia Youth Centre with special thanks to our friends at ODAS Park and Giant Tiger. Collect candy while Trick-Or-Treating from Trunk-To-Trunk during this daytime event in the fields at ODAS Park. Featured cars will be dressed in their own costumes!

Calling all Ghosts, Goblins, Fairies, and creatures of the night! Put on your Halloween finery, pick up a “passport” then explore our trails at Wye Marsh. Meet a variety of well dressed woodland “spirits”. Collect five or more stamps, and show your passport for a sweet treat in the Visitors’ Centre.

October 16, 23, 30 & 31, 7-8pm | Orillia Museum of Art and History

Join OMAH for an hour-long guided walking tour of Orillia’s haunted past! The tour discusses the spooks and spectres that still make themselves known in Orillia and the surrounding area. The tour begins inside our haunted jail cells and ends at the Orillia Opera House. Tickets are $10 + HST and members receive 20% off.

This tour discusses themes that may not be suitable for a younger audience and we recommend children be 13 and over to attend.

For those who love a good haunting, what better place to host a ghost tour than an old historic building such as the historic Leacock home? Tours will feature tales of haunted happenings throughout the years on the property. Please dress weather-accordingly as this tour takes place outside. Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies after the tour is over.
